Joint statement: CSOs call on the Royal Government of Cambodia to repeal the sub-decree on the establishment of the National Internet Gateway
On 19 February 2021, the CamboJA released a joint statement on the CSOs call on the Royal Government of Cambodia to repeal the sub-decree on the establishment of the National Internet Gateway. Since some articles are broadly written, not clearly defined, harshly restrictive of freedoms, freedom of expressions, rights of internet users, and privacy rights, the 62 of CSOs have called on the government to repeal the sub-decree as soon as possible for the competitiveness of telecommunication operators, attracting investors in technology companies, and the economic growth.
